Script your day

Take 5 minutes to write a script of the most inspired day you could imagine.

Read each sentence and pause to let it land in your body, looking for the felt sense of deep inspiration and YES. If you don’t get that, modify the words until there’s an energetic spark that uplevels the bodymind.

 

We’re stimulating a neurochemical upleveling that feels like a shift in the system.

​

If a sentence is too far of a stretch that brings up resistance or doubt, change the words until, when you read it, you notice your energy rise and open to amazing possibility.

 

We have a habituated setpoint of happiness/well being that we have practiced all the years of our lives, so this begins a rewiring process. And if we read and tweak our statement each day, we will begin to experience profound shifts throughout our lives.

 

Sample:

I wake up refreshed and energized, ready to meet the day with open curiosity.

I am grounded, centered, and breathing full radiance to every cell of my body.

​

I intend this day to deepen my peace and happiness so I recognize that as the core intention behind all that unfolds throughout the day.

​

I have all the time I want and need to calmly navigate all circumstances that arise.

​

I am filled with compassion and patience with each interaction, and I recognize that everyone is essentially looking for love and recognition.

​

I honor my gifts and talents and am curious to explore what’s possible when I open to  my full potential.

​

I can see that what I truly want is peace and happiness and that is available in any moment just by remembering.

The real desire

Would I rather be right or at peace? 

A good question to ask when seemingly stuck in an interaction that feels contentious.

It's only a thought

Really, it's only our thoughts that cause suffering. Others have been in similar situations without suffering, so it's not the circumstance, but our belief about it that is the issue. To recognize that whatever is limiting us is only a thought, gives us space to allow a shift.

Not knowing

Trigger events are a part of our lives. The negativity bias in the human nervous system is attuned to anything that threatens our safety and happiness. In our modern culture those threats are largely social. Notice how easily we can ignore or forget praise, and how we rerun perceived criticisms in our minds over and over.

 

We automatically react in fight, flight, or freeze when we feel triggered, we focus on the trigger event as the cause of our suffering; something “out there” is making me feel THIS.

And we have no control of anything that happens “out there”.

 

The human mind wants to understand, to sort, and plan how to react so it spins stories about what this means and how to deal with it. And those stories cost the system energy.

 

We have sovereignty when we shift awareness to the “inside” the physiology of the experience. Here is the only place where we can actually make a shift. We can ground our feet and discharge that electromagnetic overload of the nervous system like a lightning rod. We can slow our breath. We can open the context of the experience to recognize in a day, in a year, this will mean nothing.

 

And we can disrupt the spinning of the narrative by recognizing “I don’t actually know what this means.”

 

The mind thinks it knows, based on memory, conditioning, and habit, but when we really look, we can see there’s no way to know what the event means, what outcomes will develop, what dynamics are in play that we have no knowledge of. That event is only the tip of an unfathomable iceberg of mystery and when we let go of trying to figure it out, we regain all the energy we have spent in the story and find an opening to the great mystery and wonder that lets us live in freedom and delight.

It's only energy

Ultimately everything distills down to energy. Sensations, thoughts, emotions — all various energies that we have labeled good or bad. When we clear the word to feel the energy without a label, it frees the flow up and allows us to feel the possibilities of being more alive and engaged.

Just watching

Deep meditation shows us there is a Presence that simply watches life flow without engaging or investing in any of it.

​

Feel back a week ago — different circumstances but same Presence. Back to adolescence — differnt body, different circumstances, different world; same Presence. All the way back to pre-verbal infancy....same unique you.

​

​And even before birth in this human biology...?
